By the default of theme, it does not suport for the svg file because it is too heavy and not suitable for web pages to display. That's why you can not input it.

But svg is only 7 kb ? Its not heavy and should be usable... also its much better quality because of vector

I do not know the cause. I have contacted to the author of theme he said that it does not suport for the svg file. Also i have never seen on wordpress theme before.
