    Updating theme is not working correctly

    I went to install the new theme update by doing what I always do:
    Deactivate my TechOne Child Theme
    Activate the Storefront Theme
    Delete the TechOne Theme (keeping the TechOne Child Theme)
    Uploading the new TechOne Theme
    Installing the new TechOne Theme
    Activating the new TechOne Theme
    Activating the TechOne Child Theme

    When I do this, the site seems to either be broken or completely useless (see attached)

    In your steps, I see the step: "Installing the new TechOne Theme". Do you mean that you import again the demo data?
    And which version of the theme you are using for your site? Because I cannot access your site, the account is not correct: https://prnt.sc/10k4xon
    Which old version of the theme did you use for your site?
    Also, do you have any changes/customization on the main theme before you update the theme?

    Please let me know then I will give you the correct answer

    Installing the new TechOne Theme is "themeforest-GOBgOE9y-techstore-multipurpose-woocommerce-theme-wordpress-theme.zip" Installable WordPress File Only.
    I'm currently on TechOneVersion: 1.6.7 because I've had this same issue every time you released a new update.
    I do not do any changes on the main theme... I only edit and customize the Child Theme
    I used the credentials in my first message to log in and it worked for me. Please try again.

    Yes, because I am on TechOneVersion: 1.6.7
    I can't leave my site in the broken state. I rolled back my changes so my business can keep running.

    Ah, because it is the new version of this theme that uses the Elementor template to build the theme.
    You still use the old version of the theme. That's why you could not update the theme basically.

    I like that the current theme is working well with no issues but I'm concerned about security and compatibility if I don't keep up with my theme updates. Do you agree that we should move to the latest version of the theme? If so, yes, I will need help so I can use the new theme.

    Any updates? I'm concerned about my site's theme being out of date for so long. Why did the theme change so much that we have to rebuild homepages and inner pages again?

    I've been looking into switching to another theme developer but it's going to take just as much time redoing everything. I don't understand why you changed it so much that an entire redesign is necessary. What happened to all of my child CSS? If we're going to do anything moving forward, it must be done during a planned maintenance period. We will use a plugin like WP Maintenance Mode and schedule a date and timeframe that the site will be down while upgrading to the new theme. Before we do that, please answer my other questions regarding what happened to all my styling and how to bring current site elements to the new theme.

    It broke all of my CSS styling and didn't carry over any of my child theme changes. I'm restoring the backup. This was not done with care.

    Hi,

    Because the last time I told you to back up everything before we did this job for you. All your changes (css code, change the default design of the theme) must be saved because those would be your owl changes. And when we updated, you can add again those css codes.
    And according to your above requirement, you wanted to use the latest version of theme with Elementor template. Now do you want to use the old version of this theme?

    All of my CSS edits were still present when I went into Appearance Customize but none of the styles were active. It's as if all of the classes changed.
    I would rather not use Elementor if I don't have to but I need to update to the latest theme. I'm concerned about security and compatibility.

    It may be because that CSS code just works for the old version of the theme. With the new version, it is running with the new template.
    So if you still use the Elementor template, can you show me the issues you need to check? Then my coder will check for you

    There are too many issues to mention and I don't have it up in front of me. I remember the logo said Tech One instead of Sparked Innovations, the colors of the site were red tech one colors and not blue sparked innovations colors. The banners were your demo banners. The slider had a very old animation and slides that were not our current slides. The demo product categories were displayed (laptops, etc). The contact information in the footer was demo content. Basically, most of the site, aside from products, was demo content. If you do a screen capture of our current homepage and product page, you can compare it to the demo homepage and demo product page and see all of the differences. If you plan to experiment, please use the staging site, which I just refreshed (check the secret information box)

    None of the passwords have changed. What account can he not access? I cannot take screenshots because I restored the site back to before your coder made the changes. Are you still "itsonla" on Skype? I'd like to chat on there because it's faster. I don't get notifications from support.kutethemes when a reply is posted and this is taking way too long.
