Typography Color

Hello. I have run into a small problem. I have a black background and because of that the text on certain elements isn't showing up. The main problem is that when I set the typography to black, the options on the sub-menus (a.k.a drop down menu on the header) are visible but the sidebar options are not because they blend in with the black background. When I set the colour to white, the sidebar options are visible but the sub-menu options blend in with the white background. So here is my question. Is there a way to change the font colour for each section (this would be ideal)? Or could I possibly change the background of the drop-down menu from white to black or sidebar background from black to white? Your help is much appreciated. I have attached some screenshots for visual reference. The first picture is with white font, the second is with black font. Also, I am changing the colour in theme options for each individual page, not in the Theme Options > General section.
