    When you update a theme, does it update the child theme?

    When you update a theme, does the update also apply to the child theme I created?

    Hi @mikewitthus,

    When you update theme, the Main theme will be changed as your update.
    We do not update for Child theme.

    We will never update the Child theme. This is created to let you add your own changing and customization. We just update for the Main theme. When you update the Main theme, your Child theme will not change

    So the child theme will not get the new features of any new update? For example, if a new update comes out for the parent theme that fixes a bug, that bug won't be fixed in the child theme? How would I then fix that bug? Would I have to create an entirely new child theme after I update the parent theme?

    The reason I ask is because I have made customizations on my child theme, but I don't know how to update the child theme when the parent theme gets the new updates.

    Yeah, I understood your question.
    So it depends on what you customized. If your customization in the Child theme is the same as our updating for the Main theme, it will be affected. So, please do back up all your changes, customization in both the Main theme and Child theme. Then you can update the Main theme. In case you have the trouble, we will help you to check
