Visual Composer Update problem

Getting message for updating Visual Composer to 4.8. It seems to be paid. In theme features, it was mentioned that Visual Composer is included in the theme cost. Then, updates are supposed to be provided free of cost.

If we use child theme of wordpress Kuteshop theme, will there any issues with the website if there are more updates released in future ?

As far as child theme is concerned, we can make it. We don't want to make frequent changes in the website, like updating plugins, woocommerce, etc. That's why we are asking if it would still be mandatory to update the plugins, etc. for the website to function properly.
