500 error with boutique toolkit plugin

HI
When I activate the Boutique toolkit plugin and WPBakery Visual Composer my site gets a 500 error. Each plugin works alone but they are not working together. Is there a fix for this? When i update the toolkit manually via FTP I get this error
Plugin installation failed.
Plugin not activated. A higher version of Boutique toolkit is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.
