    Issues with checkout

Posted by: acomtois Nov 8, 2017 at 16:08 (7 year ago)
Hi - I am having some troubles with my website on the checkout page. I have PayPal setup and it was working fine. I'm not exactly sure when the issue started but when I do a test order, the entire section where the shipping and payment deals display is grayed out. I just spent over an hour on the phone with PayPal and they seem to think it might be related to the theme. Is there any chance you can assist with this?? I am set to launch this site this weekend and I am a bit panicked right now. Please help?!

Hi - I do have that set so I am not sure why this is not working. I am not sure where else to turn. Is there any way you can take a look? I provided login details in the original request.

Can you provide your FTP accounts + screenshot, it describes your issue? I think that, it 's better connect to the author of the PayPal for WooCommerce plugin. They will check and fix it.

I have already done this and they have confirmed that it is not the plugin. They told me to speak to the theme developer. I have spent several hours on the phone with them and I am at al loss. If I can't get this to work, I will require a refund on this theme as it is not working. I am ready to launch this site otherwise and I can not do it until this is resolve. Attached is a screenshot where you will see the section that displays the shipping options and checkout are grayed out. If you go to yachtarelax.com/shop and add a product and go to checkout, you will see this. I am desperate for help. My customer is kind of freaking out.

Here is something else weird that happens. When I go to the CART page (not checkout), I see the options to choose shipping and if I change from the default to another choice, I get the attached screenshot. (I attached two screenshots, one is what it looks like when you go to the cart page and the second is when I choose a different option. I do not see anything wrong in the shipping setup at all.

Please see my last two entries along with this update. I contacted Woocommerce and the provided the following info. Is this something you can assist me with?

The content type of the response to an AJAX call to get_refreshed_fragments is wrong on your site and this will need to be addressed at the server level. Here is what it looks like on your site:

    see screen shot
    http://cld.wthms.co/lQWz4H

    And this is the response:

    see screen shot
    http://cld.wthms.co/pQQGsj

That should not be HTML, the expectation is that it would be JSON.

The content type should be 'application/json' and the response would look similar to this:
    see screen shot
    http://cld.wthms.co/FPT4u1

When the AJAX call is made, the JavaScript expects a JSON response. When it receives a valid response, the block is removed from the payment section so that you can check out but since a valid response is not received, that never happens.

I can not seem to connect to Skype. I am in the US and I am not sure if that will be feasible due to the time difference. Is there anything else I can do?

HI - it seems the PayPal part is fixed but I am still having troubles with the shipping part. When you go to the cart page and choose an option other than the default, it tries to load my current "coming soon" index.html page into that little box. And then all the images appear broken (screen shots attached). And from the checkout page, I am able to pick other shipping options but it does not recalculate the order total on the screen. It does however pass the correct amount through to PayPal.

Something weird also happened yesterday. My entire site was deleted from my server.... everything. I had to contact my hosting provider and pay $25 for them to restore the site from a backup. Coincidently it was around the time this ticket was responded to as being resolved. There is also a file manager plugin installed that I believe they did. Not sure I still need that?

HI again - I fixed the issue on the cart page where it is trying to reload the coming soon page into that box. I fixed it and I am able to choose different shipping options and it does update the total. However, on the checkout page, when I choose a different option, I will not update the total on the page but when it sends the info to PayPal, it does use the correct shipping amount. Can you please check this?

One other thing to note.... if a new customer goes to the checkout and is not logged in yet (doesn't have an account), the shipping options do not display once the billing and shipping info is entered on that page. It should refresh that part and the shipping details should show. Please go to https://yachtarelax.com/checkout/ and you will see what I mean.

Here is an update I got from Woocommerce. I hope this can help you fix this issue ASAP. My customer is VERY upset and I dont know what to do.

Unfortunately it seems there's still a problem in the child theme code. Normally, whenever the customer changes something on the checkout page, there's a request sent to ?wc-ajax=update_order_review that will recalculate the shipping cost, taxes, and other location - dependent things:

    Screenshot
    Screenshot: http://cld.wthms.co/lBRRhG

Here I can see that selecting any option doesn't trigger the order update, so there's no way to get the shipping costs calculated correctly, as the calculator is never fired:

    Screenshot
    Screenshot: http://cld.wthms.co/Fazdhl

To verify if this is indeed due to the theme, you may want to temporarily switch back to a default one such as Twenty Seventeen - the cart summary should reload correctly each time then. If it indeed turns out to be a theme problem, can you please check with the theme developers why this might be happening?
