"Fashion - Home Categories" module - no products showing up!

Hi there,
Unfortunately, I'm having quite some issues with the theme. When I run a kingdom test, the theme's css and jp documents are each over 400kb and take quite some time to load. The slider is also very slow to load and often I will first get all the images displayed from top to bottom before it jumps into the slider format. Any tips to improve the loading speed for these?
A big issue is that since this morning the Fashion Home Categories module is enabled but no products show. See screenshot. What could be wrong?
Any subscribers to the newsletter didn't come through. I'm trying to integrate it directly with Mailchimp, but if I add any mail chimp code to the website (e.g. in the footer or as a pop-up), all the images on the website jump around and are not in the right format anymore. It looks funny. I'm having a developer look into this, but it would be great if you know how to fix this.
