advanced menu not working properly

I bought Prestashop Boutique theme on Themeforest and am building a site with it. However, advanced top menu doesn't work 100%: I can't add custom link to it. It doesn't stick. Can you help me?

Hi mate.

We updated this bug in the newest version of Boutique theme. It also contains about your issue.
Please go to themeforest then update your site up to the newest version.
Follow the change_log there (http://kute-themes.com/prestashop/boutique/changelog_boutique.txt) then update the needed file for your site.
PLEASE BACKUP both your database + source code before updating.

I did not get any emails before, zo did not know that you fixed this issue. Thank you for that.
But when I install the new version, will I lose all translations made before? Or will the new version detect these and automatically integrate them?

If your site has been customized, please follow the change_log in the updated package. Your customization before will be lost when you update the new one.
So, please follow these steps. This is applied for customized site:
Before updating, please BACKUP both your data base + source code.
** Update theme version.
+ Step 1. You need to download the latest updated-package from Themeforest, then Unzip this zipped file. In the extracted folder contains two folders: modules and themes
+ Step 2. If you are using too old version, you should step by step updating theme versions without skipping any versions. Following the change-log to upload and replace all the needed files... to the same path on your site via ftp or Cpanel. So the changed/updated files will be overwritten,...and new files will be copied into the correct positions,...
+ Step 3. Clear cache of your site (in the back-end).

I assume 1 file fixes this issue? If I only update that one, my problem is solved and I will not lose anything, correct?

After hours of trying to get mega category module to work, I'm desillusioned because nothing happens. I see the documentation is not up to date (description does not match what I see in module's backoffice) and more important no results show in frontoffice. What goes wrong?

I have just configured Mega category module for you. You can change the products as you wish.
The guideline in documentation is just the general form for all the themes that we develop. If you have any confuse, please contact with me. I will explain for you.

I need to show products on category pages. Can I have different layouts for different pages? And this was my problem yesterday; all my efforts were in vain and nothing showed. Do I just add a new mega category widget for every category I want? And is there a way to have a setting for several category pages?

You probably to have different layouts for different pages and please remember to modify both in Layout builder.
About category page, i still cannot get what you mean.

For example: category 'gastenboeken'. When I go there I see regular layout,. But in category widget I chose for 'position: displayMegaCategory' and a specific layout. I do not see this in frontoffice. Why is that?

Where can I find an overview of the different positions to choose from? Like 'displayMegaCategory'; which position on a page is that exactly?

In Layout Builder I only see possibility for homepage layout. Bu how is layout structured in all other pages of the website? Is this a general setting?

I checked your site and I can see that you have to configure something to make this display in front - end.
- In Mega category configuration: When you put the Layout is Home product tabs slide style 4, you have to add the tabs ( I mean the Groups or Widget) for this. It is the condition to make the layout display well. I do the example for you. You can change there.

- In Layout Builder: When you select the position is Display mega category, you also to hook the Mega category module in this position in Layout Builder ( I did it for you).
Now the products display well in front - end as you wish.

Thank you for support but I had to delete module from hook, because it destroyed my homepage. There should be a way to define layout for specific pages? All I see in Layout Builder is layout for Homepage
