Thank for contacting us.
About your question. You need to complete Installation and after installation. After that, you can use the KT Shortcode to build your page like our option8. ( Go to back end, select Pages >> Add New>> enter your Home page>> click on BACKENDEDITOR >>Default Template tab>> Select Home8, insert some shortcode and build it follow your intention, you will get it)

and how do i set the new page to be the homepage?

Hi RokeNroLl ,
we got your question. To set the new page to be home page, you need go to backend>> Settings>>Reading>> Static Page and choose your new home page. DO NOT forget click on SAVE button, reload your page and you will get it.
