Child theme woocommerce.php

Hi,
I'm trying to make customizations to the inc\hooks\woocommerce.php file. The goal is to have this file in the child theme. But none of the changes I make there are working. They work as soon as I make the changes in the same file of the parent theme.
Am I doing something wrong? I tried placing the woocommerce.php file be in the root of the child theme, but then I get a white screen. Where should I place the file, or is there another way to make these changes?
