    Product Thumbnails Blurry

Posted by: TheWanderfulSoul Aug 4, 2016 at 18:29 (8 year ago)
All of my thumbnails are appearing blurry. I changed the specs in the wordpress settings, and have cropped my images to fit the ratio. I also regenerated all of my thumbails. But still, all of my thumbnails are showing up blurry and the new product thumbnails are blurry as well. The product photos are clear on the indivudual product pages, it is only the catalog images that are blurry.

    1.) Product Thumbnails Blurry
All of my thumbnails are appearing blurry. I changed the specs in the wordpress settings, and have cropped my images to fit the ratio. I also regenerated all of my thumbails. But still, all of my thumbnails are showing up blurry and the new product thumbnails are blurry as well. The product photos are clear on the indivudual product pages, it is only the catalog images that are blurry.

    2.) Sold Out Items
I have a few items that are sold out, but they need to stay in the catalog so customers can see which items are sold out right now, but will be back in stock later. The sold out items do not have a tab that says "sold out" like the "sale" and "new" tab. Is there any way to have this so I don't have to remove visibility or confuse customers with products that look like they're still in stock?

    3.) Product Category Description
Is there an option to make the product category description hidden? For SEO purposes, it is rather long and necessary to keep it, rather than deleting it. It is a little too long for the mobile and tablet views, making customers scroll a lot before seeing products.

1.) Even photos that are the correct ratio for each of the settings are showing up blurry on the product catalog.

Photos are still blurry in the catalog even when the dimensions are exactly the same. I've tried the same dimensions, larger with the same ratio, and larger with a different ratio but everything is still blurry on the product catalog page. I've regenerated thumbnails multiple times.

    Hi TheWanderfulSoul,
We discussed with our developer about your case. They checked and said that you should increase the brightness and contrast of the images. You can see any images in page 1. It's displaying well.
    Thank you!

That is not a fix at all. The images are not the problem. Most are high quality 300dpi photographs. They look terrible and low quality in the catalog view, especially in the mobile version. The photos look fine in the individual product pages.

I need this issue fixed as soon as possibly. At latest September 9th. My website is going live soon and I cannot have pixelated photographs representing the website on the initial pages. If this cannot get fixed, I would like a full refund as I will not continue to use this theme.

    Hi TheWanderfulSoul,
We got the results. Our developers checked your site and said that because the background of colorful images so you will see it blurred. You can see with only single background image, the picture will be clearer. Please try to increase the resolution of your original image. Hope it is better.
    Thank you!

This is getting ridiculous. You gave me the same answer as before and nothing has been solved. The photos are at their highest resolution. You even uploaded an image yourself with a plain background and it was still blurry. The images with colorful backgrounds are not the only images with the blurry and pixelation problems. ALL of the images are blurry, it's just easier to notice when it is not on a white background. It makes no sense that the catalog images would be super blurry, yet the product page is very clear and high resolution. It is NOT an issue of the images. It is something going on in the theme.

I actually just fixed the issue myself thankfully. But, the mobile category images are still slightly blurry. If you can figure out what is going on in the back end of the theme that is causing this, I would really appreciate it. Many of my website views are from mobile users and I need this fixed before I switch my domain over.

I have found a workaround for the mobile, adding 2 columns in stead of one, making the images smaller and they look better. But, the scrolling products on the front page are still blurry.

Again, this is about the 3rd time you have given me this answer when it is not the issue. The image already has a resolution of 300dpi. This solves nothing.

    Hi TheWanderfulSoul,
Our coder carefully checked your site. You can only make it brighter by increasing the size of the photo. Why only that image blurred while others are not blurred? Please check your photo again and let us know.
    Thank you!

It does not seem like you are reading what I am telling you. The new products slide on my front page has multiple products in it, all of the products that are showing in that slide are blurry ONLY IN THE SLIDE in the mobile version. I had to fix the blurriness of the product catalog pages myself as you had no constructive help to offer. Somehow your developers could not figure it out, yet I did, with minimal knowledge in this area. All products in the catalog are fine, these same products look fine in the catalog that are in the front page slide. They look blurry ONLY in the front page slide. For the last time, it is NOT the images. It is something going on in your back end.
