can't set proper static front page and blog posts

When I go to set the static front page and posts page the right options don't come up (home and blog posts) I went to the pages section and these pages weren't even their. I have followed the woocommerce kute theme tutorial ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evj_gUr-gZg&feature=youtu.be ) exactly up to the point 3:04 were you have to set the static front page. I am using the latest theme version kutetheme-v1.5.3.1 and I only have 2 days of support left with this theme so I would really like help in solving this problem. Thanks for your time.
